German Solar Technology Experts Convene in Kuala Lumpur

A German Solar Technology Symposium recently took place in Kuala Lumpur. Organised by MGCC, the symposium saw more than 20 Malaysian and German experts presenting the latest techologies on the renewable energies sector.

Germany is a leader in the EU in terms of development in renewable energies as indicated by the rapid increase in renewable energy share of over 20% in Germany and will see one million independent power producers feeding into the national electricity grid by 2012. This industry is strongly supported both by the Government and private sectors.

Energy, Green Technology and Water Ministry Secretary General, Datuk Loo Took Gee who officiated the event said that a thorough review of worldwide practices in the implementation of FiT to promote RE including the German FiT system was conducted before the implementation of the FiT in Malaysia on 1st December 2011.

The three day event included workshops on FiT and business matching sessions between Malaysian and German companies.

Invitation to the 7th GSSKL Christmas Concert and Reception

The German Speaking Society Kuala Lumpur invites you to their 7th Christmas Concert and Reception under the patronage of the Austrian, German and Swiss Embassies. 

Truly get into the Christmas spirit by listening to angelic voices singing traditional carols and then being reminded of why we celebrate Christmas.

A choir, violin and organ concert will be performed by “Cantus Musicus”, a renowned choir with expatriate and local singers and musicians.  Also part of the programme are Christmas-themed recitals by representatives of the three Embassies. After the concert, there will be a reception with food and drinks included.

Invitation to the German Alumni Meeting

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) – in close cooperation with the Goethe Institute Malaysia and the German Embassy Kuala Lumpur –  is organising an evening seminar on 16 December 2011 at 7pm to bring together Malaysians who have studied in Germany and representatives of selected German companies and German universities. This “network forum” will be held at the residence of the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, H.E. Dr. Guenter Gruber, in Jalan Kia Peng, Kuala Lumpur. There will be presentations by DAAD, by a German university, and by a prominent Malaysian alumnus. Refreshments and supper will be served. 

If you took a degree from a German university or underwent professional training in Germany for some months and would like to participate in this forum, please register via e-mail (info@daadkl.org) with the DAAD Information Centre KL and send us your personal details until Wednesday, 30 November 2011. We will then forward a printed invitation card to you.

ASEAN Business Day in Frankfurt

In cooperation with the Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MGCC), the other German Chambers in the ASEAN region and the German Asia-Pacific Business Association (OAV), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Frankfurt am Main is going to hold an ASEAN business day (“ASEAN – Der Wachstumsmarkt Südostasien”) in Frankfurt. 

This event, which will highlight the ASEAN markets with business opportunities in such dynamic sectors as health care/medical technology or renewable energy/energy efficiency is going to take place on 28 November 2011. The event will also be an opportunity to meet the market experts of the German Chambers in the ASEAN region.
